Dear Community,

It is with great pleasure I welcome you to a very special dance concert TONIGHT IN VANCOUVER.

Will you join us?

I hope that you will be inspired, moved and transported through the gorgeous playing of pianist Nora Izumi Bartosik (NYC) and Martin Reisle on cello as well as the deep remembrance reflected by all the dancers and choreographers.

I’ve come to know Miki Orihara through my deep connection to Martha Graham’s work (Martha was one of dance’s great creative geniuses) and am thrilled that Miki has come to share these important Modern Dance works.

As in the appreciation of any art form, returning to the essence and impetus of it’s genesis re-informs how we perceive the work and that is exactly what you will experience in Resonance III.

There is purity and power in each of Miki’s five solos and it is remarkable just how relevant they feel today- nearly eight decades after their creation.

It was an honour that Miki invited my company Dezza Dance to share the program with you and we offer you a new iteration of our dance residency project DEEP ROOTS.

Miki and Nora are here for just one night from NYC to share Resonance III with you and I hope that you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

I hope to see you at the performance tonight!

With gratitude,

Desirée

PS We are going paperless and the Program is now available to enjoy at the top of this page.
